Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agents are tax preparers affiliated with the federal government itself. Unlike the CPAs, these agents solely concentrate on tax accounting, which somehow makes them more knowledgeable on complicated tax issues and tax audits, more accessible to tax collectors and more updated in the changes of rules and regulations in the IRS. State-registered tax preparers, like CPAs, have broad knowledge and experience in accounting and business laws & regulations. They are the best option of people who have very simple tax declaration. Lastly, there are tax accountants working in the big national tax franchises H&R Block, Jackson Hewitt, and Liberty Tax that have branches spread across the country.
